Purpose of establishment
Medical Device Lab LLC promotes the development of innovative medical devices by combining innovative needs in the medical field and ideas of doctors with the technology and research of participating companies. Based on medical needs in Japan and overseas, we aim to improve medical technology and develop advanced medical equipment with the aim of improving treatment outcomes and QOL for patients.

As a supervising surgeon at the Department of Vascular Surgery at the University of Wisconsin in the United States for over 10 years, he has performed the world's most cutting-edge vascular surgery procedures. He has performed many surgeries, including aortic aneurysm surgery, aortic stent graft surgery, carotid artery stenosis surgery, carotid artery stents, peripheral artery bypass surgery, and catheter therapy. He has also been involved in the latest stent graft clinical trials in the United States, and has worked on the development of many cutting-edge devices and basic research into arterial diseases. With the opening of the Department of Vascular Surgery at Fujita Health University in July 2023, he will also serve as the department's chief professor.

•After graduating from university, he joined Nippon Kokan (now JFE Holdings).
After that, he was involved in over 1,000 investments and over 100 fund management at Japan Asia Investment, including venture investments, buyout investments, and business revitalization investments both at home and abroad, and was appointed as the company's executive director in 2006. He later served as president of Japan Private Equity, and is currently an advisor to New Horizon Capital Co., Ltd.
•He has extensive experience in medical and medical device venture investments, having established a venture fund specializing in medical and biotechnology with the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation in 2001, and launched the Jaic-Henson Medfocus Fund in the United States in 2004 to invest in medical device ventures.
